What is the probability that a number selected from the numbers 1, 2, 3, ..., 15 is a multiple
of 4?

Solution

Total no. possible outcomes = 15 {1, 2, 3, …. , 15}

E ⟶ event of getting a multiple of 4

No. of favourable outcomes = 3 {4, 8, 12}

Probability, P(E) =`"No.of favorable outcomes"/"Total no.of possible outcomes"`

=3/15 =1/5
