# One Angle is Equal to Three Times Its Supplement. the Measure of the Angle is - Mathematics

MCQ

One angle is equal to three times its supplement. The measure of the angle is

• 130°

• 135°

• 90°

• 120°

#### Solution

Let the supplement of the angle be x°

Therefore, according to the given statement, the required angle measures 3x°

Since the angles are supplementary, therefore their sum must be equal to 180°

Or we can say that

x + 3x = 180

4x = 180

x =180/ 4

 x =45

Thus, the supplement of  45°angle measures

3x = 3(45°)

= 135°
