1. Name the reactive intermediae produced
2. Indicate the movement of electrons by a suitable arrow to produce this intermediate
3. Comment on stability of this intermediate produced.

1. The reactive intermediates produced are methyl free radicals:
$\ce{H3C - CH3 ->[U.V.light] ^.CH3 + ^.CH3}$
2. The stability order of alkyl free radicals is:
$\ce{^.CH3 < 1^\circ < 2^\circ < 3^\circ}$
Hence, $\ce{^.CH3}$  produced in the above reaction is least stable and highly reactive.
