Solution
The mineral deposit in the earth's crust constitutes only one percent. Minerals are being consumed faster than it can be replenished, as they take millions of years to form. Moreover, agriculture and other industries are heavily dependent on minerals. It is therefore important to conserve them. This can be done by:
1. Improving the technology to allow use of low grade ores at low costs
2. Recycling of metals
3. Using scrap metals and other substitutes
4. Using the available minerals in a planned manner
