Let `A = [(4, -2),(6, -3)], B = [(0, 2),(1, -1)] and C =[(-2, 3),(1, -1)]` Find `A^2 + A +BC`

 

Solution

`A^2 = [(4, 2),(6, -3)][(4, -2),(6, -3)] = [(16 - 12, -8 + 6),(24 - 18,  -12 + 9)] = [(4, -2),(6, -3)]`

`BC = [(0, 2),(1, -1)][(-2, 3),(1, -1)] = [(0 + 2, 0 - 2),(-2-1, 3 = 1)] = [(2, -2),(-3, 4)]`

`A^2 - A = BC = [(4, -2),(6, -3)] - [(4, -2),(6, -3)] + [(2, -2),(-3, 4)]`

` =[(0, 0),(0,0)] +  [(2, -2),(-3, 4)]`

`= [(2, -2),(-3, 4)]`
