Find the largest value of x for which 2(x – 1) ≤ 9 – x and x ∈ W.

Solution

2(x – 1) ≤ 9 – x

2x – 2 ≤ 9 – x

2x + x ≤ 9 + 2

3x ≤ 11

`"x" <= 11/3`

`"x"  <= 3.67`

Since, x ∈ W, thus the required largest value of x is 3.
