Dihydrogen gas is obtained from natural gas by partial oxidation with steam as per following endothermic reaction:

CH4 (g) + H2O (g) ⇌ CO (g) + 3H2 (g)

Write as the expression for Kp for the above reaction.

Solution

For the given reaction,

`K_P = (p_(CO) xx p_(H_2)^3)/(p_(CH_4) xx p_(H_2O))`
