Solution

Average rate  = -`1/2 (triangle[A])/(trianglet)`

= - `1/2 ([A]_2- [A]_1)/(t_2-t_1)`

= -`1/2 (0.4-0.5)/10`

= -`1/2 (-0.1)/10`

= 0.005 mol L−1 min−1

= 5 × 10−3 M min−1
