Solution
x : 4 = 3y : 5 = - z : 3;
From the above relationship; we can get the following.
`x/y = 12/5` ...............(i)
`y / z = - 5/9` ...............(ii)
From i and ii, we get
x : y : z = 12 : 5 : - 9
Let x = 12t, y = 5t, z = -9t
According to the question
(3x – 6y – 4z ) : k = x : 4
Putting the values of x , y and z in the above equation, we get
(36t – 30t + 36t) : k = 12t : 4
k = `(42 xx 4)/12`
k = 14
