If (X + 3) : (4x + 1) is the Duplicate Ratio of 3 : 5, Find the Value of X. - Mathematics

Sum

If (x + 3) : (4x + 1) is the duplicate ratio of 3 : 5, find the value of x.

Solution

If (x + 3) : (4x + 1) is the duplicate ratio of 3 : 5

Find the value of x.

We have,
("x" + 3)/(4"x" + 1) = 3^2/5^2

⇒ ("x" + 3)/(4"x" + 1) = 9/25

⇒ 25x + 75 = 36x + 9

⇒ 11x = 66

⇒ x = 6
