If P ( X ) = 2 + 5 X Then P ( 2 ) + P ( − 2 ) − P ( 1 ) . - Algebra

Sum

If p (x) = 2+5x then p(2) + p(-2) - p(1).

Solution

p(x) = 2 + 5x

∴ p(2) = 2 + 5 ×2 = 2 + 10 = 12

p(-2) = 2+5 × (-2) = 2-10 = -8

p(1) = 2 + 5 × 1 = 2 + 5 = 7

∴ p(2) + p(-2) - p(1) = 12 + (-8) - 7 = 12 - 8 - 7 = 12 - 15 = -3
