If A: B = 3: 4 and B: C = 6: 7, Find A: B: C - Mathematics

Sum

If A: B = 3: 4 and B: C = 6: 7, find A: B: C

find:

(i) A: B: C (ii) A: C

Solution

(i) A: B: C

A/B = 3/4 = 3/4 xx 3/3 = 9/12

B/C = 6/7 = 6/7 xx  2/2 = 12/14

A : B : C = 9 : 12 : 14

(ii) A: C

A/B = 3/4

B/C = 6/7

:. A/C = (A/B)/(C/B) = (3/4)/(7/6) = = 9/14

∴ A : C = 9 : 14
