Question

An electric heater is connected to the 230 V mains supply. A current of 8 A flows through the heater.

(a) How much charge flows around the circuit each second?

Solution

Here, potential, V = 230 V
Current, I = 8 A

The magnitude of the electric current is the amount of charge passing through a given point in one second. So, in this case, a charge of eight coulombs flows around the circuit each second.
