Solution
In the following reactions, ammonia reacts with acids to form the corresponding ammonium salts which indicate the basic nature of ammonia.
- \[\ce{\underset{\text{Ammonia}}{NH3} + \underset{\text{Hydrochloric acid}}{HCl}->\underset{\text{Ammonium chloride}}{NH4Cl}}\]
- \[\ce{\underset{\text{Ammonia}}{2NH}3 + \underset{\text{Sulphuric acid}}{H2SO4}->\underset{\text{Ammonium sulphate}}{(NH4)2SO4}}\]
