In the following reactions, ammonia reacts with acids to form the corresponding ammonium salts which indicate the basic nature of ammonia.

  1. \[\ce{\underset{\text{Ammonia}}{NH3} + \underset{\text{Hydrochloric acid}}{HCl}->\underset{\text{Ammonium chloride}}{NH4Cl}}\]
