Solution
- The climate is very cold in the high altitudes of Himalayas.
- During winters, in Jammu & Kashmir and parts of mountainous regions of Himalayas, the temperatures drop to - 40° C. There is heavy snowfall.
- Due to this, land which is covered with snow becomes unsuitable for vegetation. Hence, seasonally flowering trees are found here. Therefore, due to very cold temperatures, vegetation is scarce in the high altitudes of Himalayas.
