Find X and Y from the Given Equations: (5,2),(-1, Y - 1) - (1, X -1),(2, -3) = (4,7),(-3,2) - Mathematics

Sum

Find x and y from the given equations:

`[(5,2),(-1, y - 1)] - [(1, x -1),(2, -3)] = [(4,7),(-3,2)]`

Solution

`[(5,2),(-1, y - 1)] - [(1, x -1),(2, -3)] = [(4,7),(-3,2)]`

`=> [(5 - 1, 2 - x + 1),(-1 -2, y - 1 + 3)] = [(4,7),(-3, 2)]`

`=> [(4, 3-x),(-3, y + 2)] = [(4, 7), (-3, 2)]`

Equating the corresponding elements we get

3 - x = 7 and y + 2 = 2

Thus we get x = -4 and y = 0
