Question

Find the value of k, if 3x – 4 is a factor of expression `3x^2` + 2x − k.

Solution

Find the value of k, if 3x – 4 is a factor of expression `3x^2` + 2x − k.

∴ `f(4/3)=0`

⇒ `3(4/3)^2+2(4/3)-k=0`

⇒ `16/3+8/3-k=0`

⇒`24/3=k`

⇒k=8
