Solution 1
Given equation of the line is x + 2y – 1 = 0
To find the x-intercept, put y = 0 in given equation of the line
∴ x + 2(0) – 1 = 0
∴ x + 0 – 1 = 0
∴ x = 1
∴ X-intercept of the given line is 1.
Solution 2
Given equation of the line is
x + 2y – 1 = 0
i.e. x + 2y = 1
∴ `x/1 + y/(1/2)` = 1
Comparing with `x/"a" + y/"b" ` = 1, we get a = 1
∴ X-intercept of the line is 1.
