# Find the centroid of the triangle whose vertices are (−5, −5), (1, −4) and (−4, −2) - Mathematics

Sum

Find the centroid of the triangle whose vertices are (−5, −5), (1, −4) and (−4, −2)

#### Solution

Let the vertices of a triangle be A(−5, −5), (1, −4) and C(−4, −2)

Centroid of a ΔG = ((x_1 + x_2 + x_3)/3, (y_1 + y_2 + y_3)/3)

= ((-5 + 1 - 4)/3, (-5 - 4 - 2)/3)

= ((-8)/3, (-11)/3)

Centroid is ((-8)/3, (-11)/3)

Concept: The Coordinates of the Centroid
