Find p(0), p(1) and p(2) for the following polynomials:-

p(t) = 2 + t + 2t2 – t3

Solution

p(t) = 2 + + 2t2 − t3

p(0) = 2 + 0 + 2 (0)2 − (0)3

       = 2

 

p(1) = 2 + (1) + 2(1)2 − (1)3

       = 2 + 1 + 2 − 1

       = 4

p(2) = 2 + 2 + 2(2)2 − (2)3

       = 2 + 2 + 8 − 8

       = 4
