Express the following linear equations in the form ax + by + c = 0 and indicate the values of
a, b and c in each case:

 3x = -7y

Solution

 3x =- 7 y ⇒ 3x + 7y + 0 = 0 

On comparing this equation with ax + by + c =0 we get a = 3.b = 7 and c = 0 .
