Question

The mobility of holes is 0.025m2 /V-sec. what would be the resistivity of n- type Si if the Hall coefficient of the sample is 2.25× 10-5m3/C.

Solution

 :-Given Data :-μh=0.025m2 /V-sec              RH=2.25×10-5m3 /C
Formula :-ρ=` 1/σ , μ_h =σR_H`
Calculations :- `σ=μ_H/R_H =0.025/ 2.25×10^(-5)=1111.11mho⁄m`
ρ=9×10Ω -4 -m
Answer:- Resistivity=9×10-4 Ω-m
