Check if (sqrt2", "4sqrt2) is the solution of the equation x - 2y = 4.

#### Solution

Putting x = sqrt2" and "y = 4sqrt2  in the L.H.S of the given equation,

x-2y=sqrt2-2(4sqrt2)

=sqrt2-8sqrt2

=-7sqrt2

≠ 4

L.H.S ≠ R.H.S

"Therefore, "(sqrt2", "4sqrt2)" is not a solution of this equation."
