Solution

Given:

Atomic mass of C = 12 u

Atomic mass of H = 1 u

Atomic mass of Cl = 35.5 u

Therefore, molecular mass of CHCl3 can be calculated as follows:

(1 × 12) + (1 × 1) + (3 × 35.5) = 119.5

Hence, molecular mass of chloroform is 119.5 u.
