The three components of a political party are – leaders, active members, and followers.

  1. The Leaders:- The leaders constitute the higher echelons of a political party. They are the ones who effectively run the government if the party wins the elections.
  2. The Active Members:- They are the rank and file of the party, mobilising public opinion on the ground and serving as a link between the party followers and the party leaders.
  3. The Followers:- Simply put, they are the followers of the party leadership who work under the guidance of the active members of the party.

The three components of political parties are :

  1. The leaders:
    A political party consists of leaders who contest in the elections. In the elections, if a political party wins, then, they perform administrative jobs at the central and state levels.
  2. The active members:
    The active members of a political party are the ones who were once a follower and gradually become assistants of the leaders to gain knowledge about politics.
  3. The followers:
    The followers religiously follow a leader and work under the able guidance of the active members.
