If the solar constant is 1.4 kW/m2 then solar energy recived by 1m2area in one hour is:

Solution

 5040 kJ

Solar constant = 1.4 kW/m2   
          1 hour = 60 × 60 sec = 3600 sec
Therefore, energy = 1.4 kJ/s/m2 × 3600 s = 5040 kJ
