#### Solution

**`5 15/17%`gain**

**Explanation : **SP of first transistor = ₹ 840

Gain%= 20%

∴ CP of the first transistor = `100/(100+20)xx840`

= `100/120xx840` = ₹ 700

Again, SP of the second transistor = 960

Loss% = 4%

∴ CP of the second transistor = `100/(100-4%)xx960`

= `100/96xx960` = ₹ 1000

∴ Total SP = 840 + 960 = ₹ 1800

and total CP = 700 + 1000 = ₹ 1700

Hence,

gain % = `(1800-1700)/1700xx100`

= `100/17 = 5 15/17%`
