Solution
There are 52 playing cards.
∴ n(S) = 52
Let B be the event that the card drawn is a spade.
There are 13 spade cards.
∴ n(B) = 13
∴ P(B) = `("n"("B"))/("n"("S"))`
= `13/52`
= `1/4`
Hence, the probability that the card drawn is a spade is =`1/4`.
