# 66 Cubic Cm of Silver is Drawn into a Wire 1 Mm in Diameter. Calculate the Length of the Wire in Metres. - Mathematics

Sum

66 cubic cm of silver is drawn into a wire 1 mm in diameter. Calculate the length of the wire in metres.

#### Solution

We have,

Radius of wire, "r" = 1/2 = 0.5  "mm"

Let the length of the wire  be l .

As,

Volume of the wire = 66 cm

=> pi"r"^2"l" = 66

=> 22/7xx0.05xx0.05xx"l" = 66

=> "l" = 66xx(7)/(22xx0.05xx0.05)

∴ l = 8400 cm = 84 m

So, the length of the wire is 84 m.
