5m - n = 3m + 4n  then find the value of the following expression.
`(3m + 4n)/(3m - 4n)`

Solution

5m - n = 3m + 4n
⇒ 5m - 3m = n + 4n
⇒ 2m = 5n
⇒ `m/n = 5/2`

`(3m + 4n)/(3m - 4n)`

=  `[(3m)/n + (4n)/n]/[(3m)/n - (4n)/n]`

= `[3 xx 5/2 + 4]/[3 xx 5/2 -4]`

=`[15+8]/[15-8]`

= `23/7`
