- These are organs that have same basic structural plan and origin but different functions.
-Homologous organs provide evidence for evolution by telling us that they are derived from the same ancestor.
e.g. Wings of Bat.
(ii) Analogous Organs:-
-These are the organs that have different structure and origin but their function is the same.
- They provide mechanism for evolution.
e.g. wing of bat-elongated fingers with skin folds
wing of bird- feathery covering along the arm
